RebelSilk Soap Co. is an artisan soap company dedicated to crafting natural handmade soap in Cork, Ireland.

Our soaps are made using the traditional cold process method – hand-poured, hand-cut, and cured for 4-6 weeks. This age-old practice preserves all the naturally occurring moisturisers and creates a luxuriously rich and long-lasting bar.

The name RebelSilk is more than a reference to our roots on Ireland's south coast, it's a beautiful contradiction: rejecting synthetic shortcuts that prioritise production convenience over your wellbeing, while embracing nature's own silky-soft luxury and nourishment.

Ingredient Integrity

In an industry overflowing with mass-produced products that prioritise shelf life over skin health, we choose the raw power of nature for our ingredients.

We use ethically sourced plant-based oils and butters in our soap base, therapeutic-grade essential oils for scent, and colour comes from nature's own palette – clays, spices, and plant-based infusions.

Our soaps are proudly palm-oil free, cruelty-free, and made without parabens, sulphates, phthalates, or artificial colours and fragrances. We're also fortunate to use local Irish ingredients, incorporating organic Irish oats and Cork-produced buttermilk into select soaps – both recognised for their powerful soothing and skin-nourishing properties for dry, sensitive or irritated skin.

Every RebelSilk bar is designed to bring you on a sensory journey. Scent, touch, texture – each detail is designed with intention to foster moments of calm and self-connection.

Our scented soaps are infused with sophisticated blends of pure essential oils (derived directly from plants). Unlike synthetic fragrances, these plant-derived oils offer therapeutic benefits, and are chosen for their ability to calm the nervous system and uplift mood.

Sustainability

From plastic-free packaging to ethically sourced plant-based ingredients, we're committed to minimising harm and honouring the environment that inspires everything we do.

Our approach to sustainability is thoughtful and continuous – actively avoiding palm oil to help combat deforestation, using minimal energy through our entirely handmade cold process production, and choosing plastic-free packaging. This is an ongoing commitment and one we will continue to strengthen as we grow.

Meet the Founder

Síle is the Founder and Chief Soap Maker at RebelSilk Soap co.

I like to say that soap found me, rather than I found it.

At one time in my life, I really wasn't thinking that much about what I was putting on my skin. I went for the nice scents, ‘orange blossom’ and ‘white jasmine’, and products that promised ‘hydration’. I trusted those big-name brands to care for my skin. It turns out, they didn't, and still don't.

I found that even if these brands start with good intentions, maximising shelf life and cutting costs inevitably take priority over skin health. It's why we see 50 ingredients listed as standard on body wash bottles. They often contain synthetic foaming agents like SLS (routinely linked to skin irritation) and are typically bulked up with almost 70% water in place of nourishing oils.

When I discovered this and began educating myself – reading the studies, listening to the experts – I started questioning everything in my bathroom cabinet. That's when I rediscovered soap, REAL soap.

Cold process soap is the purest, most natural form of cleansing, dating back thousands of years to when our ancestors combined animal fat and wood ash to create the first bars. It felt like rediscovering something we'd lost along the way. But even then, I struggled to find pure cold process soaps without the unnaturally bright colours from micas, or the heavy synthetic fragrances that felt just as artificial as the products I'd left behind.

So, I started formulating my own. I wanted better – for my skin, for my family, and for anyone tired of sulphates, parabens, artificial colours, synthetic fragrances, and all the filler ingredients that dilute what cleansing should be. But, I wanted luxury too…

Many formulations and tireless refinement later, the beautiful contradiction that is RebelSilk was born:
